A Leftside Story

Very rarely do we like to throw around the term genius but when it comes to major underground influecial players, they don't come more innovative and trale-blazing than Lefty. I first met Lefty back in 2016 at the opening of Tone Coffee Shop. Lefty was booked to play with his now legendary crew LGN and I had rocked up on my own to see what was good. After chatting for a couple of hours, he invited me to to come to his studio in "Boogie Trap" Chiswick the next day. I got there in the morning and we created our first tune together NO TIME, a genre defying hip hop track with dark pop undertones. This song whent on define the rest of our working relationship, pushing the boundaries of genres into new styles and allowing big concepts to be realised.

After this, Lefty's concept was to go full on 80's nostalgia. He wanted abn album tgat looked and sounded like Scarface and GTA Vice City and so "Greatest Hits" was seeded, a blend of Zaflon's synthwave and Lefty's unique UK rap. An album tynged with Nostalgia, humour and frvolity.

NO FEELINGS on Greatest Hits features the late great ShoXstar on of the original members of LGN.

DON'T JUDGE ME, one the danciest tracks on the album has a video comprised of retro pop culture and the current affairs of the time. This video was made during lockdown.

Lefty is an artist well worth checking out whether you are into hip-hop or not. He directs and edits most of his music videos and has a plethora of witty content online.
